Photo essay: ‘The Press’

Photo essay: ‘The Press’

The essay describes what I see as a brief allegory to the journalism industry through the eyes of pressmen. However, the interpretation of the essay is not limited simply to this or whether or not the story is positive or negative. Each viewer may see something different or may only see photos with no connection to anything.

Technical

The photos were taken 100 percent tripod mounted using a 17-35mm Nikon lens mounted on a Nikon D80. All photos were shot in RAW at ISO 100 using natural light. The shoot yielded more than 300 photos and took four separate shoots for a total of 9 hours. In addition, I spent 4 hours of editing as well as 2 hours of library research and photo scanning.

Credits

The final story includes 19 of my photos and three black and white photos from The Indianapolis Star Library and Bass Photo Company.
